Crusty Pound Cake

I've tried many pound cake recipes and this is by far my favorite!

You can make this pound cake in a bundt pan or individual loaf pans, like I did. Package them in clear plastic bags, tie a sweet little tag on them, and give to a neighbor during these trying times. Remember, we are all in this together, and even the tiniest of gestures goes a long way!

I'm sharing this recipe in hopes that you may already have the ingredients in your pantry! My family enjoys this for dessert with strawberries and blueberries, or even for breakfast! A slice of this pound cake toasted is heavenly with a cup of coffee in the morning.

Ingredients:

• 3 sticks softened butter

• 3 cups sugar

• 6 eggs

• 1 T vanilla extract

• 3 cups plain flour

• 1/2 t salt

Mix butter, add sugar gradually,, mixing until texture is fine and mealy. Add eggs one at a time beating after each. Add vanilla extract. Combine flour and salt. Mix into batter until moistened. Do not over-beat. Pour into greased 10-inch tube pan or individual loaf pans, and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 25 minutes, or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool in pan for 15 minutes, the turn onto wire rack to finish cooling.
